You may use
A Baby’s
Diary
in any way you feel is beneficial to you and
your baby. However, I thought a little bit
of guidance will be welcome!
I used the Infant’s
Breastfeeding Diary until Karl was 6 months
old. At 6 months, I started using Baby’s
Daily Feeding & Sleeping Diary. I personally
did not use a Sleeping/Awake Diary for my
son until he was 6 months old. Most of the
time, he was sleeping while breastfeeding so
I could not keep an exact timing of his
sleeping habits. However, I strongly suggest
the use of the sleeping diary after 6 months
of age as you need to keep track of your
baby’s sleeping habits. Once you do that,
you will be able to determine whether there
is a pattern or not in your child sleeping
routine. Furthermore, this will aid you in
facilitating the task of dealing with
sleeping problems, if any. It’s up to you to
continue using the 6 to 12 months
Feeding/Sleeping Diary as long as you want.
However, I am introducing a Toddler’s
Feeding/Sleeping Diary that you can start
using as soon as you feel it is appropriate
for you and your child’s changing needs. If
you are continuing to breastfeed your child
past his first birthday, please see Toddler
Sleeping/Feeding Diary with Breastfeeding.
The Weekly Activities sheet
is great as a reminder to what will be your
schedule for the coming week. We live in an
era where children go to music, dance, arts
and gym classes on a regular basis. This
will help you keep track of it. You can also
use it for your own calendar keeping. The
Doctor’s sheet is wonderful since it allows
you to gather information you need in just
one place. This is one of my favorite
sheets. And let’s not forget one of the most
useful sheets – the Grocery Checklist. This
one will come in handy regularly. How many
times have you gone to the grocery store
only to come home and realize you have
forgotten to buy this and that? Not anymore!
Don’t you think you owe it to yourself not
to worry about where you left your sitter’s
phone number or what have you done with the
24-hour pharmacy address and phone number
when you most need them?
A Baby’s
Diary is a
must-have.
Good Luck! |
